Mid-Autumn Ramblings with The Cattle & The Crew

Though you're not exactly blue,
Yet you don't feel like you do
In the winter, or the long hot summer days.
For your feelin's and the weather
Seem to sort of go together,

And you're quiet in the dreamy autumn haze.
When the last big steer is goaded
Down the chute,and safely loaded;
And the summer crew has ceased to hit the ball;

When a fellow starts to draggin'
To the home ranch with the wagon --
When they've finished shipping cattle in the fall.

A Thanksgiving Day Feast with The Canaan Crew & Friends

Yesterday, the Crew and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day feast on the ranch with our friends, Catherine, Denise and Terry. Some of our friends could not make it do to schedules so we wanted to share a few photos. The weather and the feast was absolutely perfect, and as usual, the crew was on hand to entertain their guests. The meal was delicious! Catherine prepared the beautiful bird and Denise's homemade pumpkin pie was to "die for!"

Our dear Toronto friend Gordon could not make it out this year, so we had to include a pic from last year's festivities of Gordon and his pal Rookie. It was getting too dark for a photo opp with our friend Terry and the crew, but Denise managed to get one pic of him driving onto the ranch with Rook escorting his truck onto the homefront:-)

To my family and friends - Happy Thanksgiving!
Miss Cybelle takes a moment out of her busy schedule to pose and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. The wine is in honour of our "Lulu B. Bovines" - aptly named by my friend Catherine who said the wine was hardy, robust and well-balanced like my Angus brigade:-)

Me and my young Rookie watching the October sunset. My hat was beautifully knitted by my friend Catherine  - I love it!
