The Crew "barks up" some festive Cheer

The Crew and I decided it was time to spark up the homestead for the merry month of December.

We recently had an extreme propane leak, so the wood stove is our only heat source for a few days as we wait  for the tank to be full again. The crew  and I are no strangers to living a rural life, especially during our long cold winters, and as I  heat up the home, they remind me to take a breath,  put on some "frosty",  sparkle up the home, and keep the fire a glowing  24/7 for the festive season .

A few rambling pics of  some cozy indoor cheer with the Crew getting their "Festive On".

Cybelle strikes a classic festive Diva pose while helping with the decorations
Young Master Rook gets ready to watch his favourite holiday movie "Frosty The Snowman". "Hey Boss, can we have popcorn tonight?"
Rook gets a special treat  - his own private bowl of popcorn
Rook says "quiet everyone, Frosty is on!"
Ash says "I love Frosty too!, but Rook can have the popcorn. I prefer the homemade  biscuit you made for me."
Cybelle says " look how long I can hold my festive Diva pose - I think I should try out for a Christmas theatre production since I can maintain a dramatic look no matter what season."
Miss Ash says "I can also hold a "diva festive theatrical pose" too - bring it on miss Cybelle!" Can you tell I have competitive girls in the house:-)
And as the girls work on their "diva festive pose-off" contest the Rookie of the crew is more concerned if there is more popcorn coming his way:-)
Rook says "Ah Ha! I knew if I waited patiently I might get some more popcorn for a festive treat!"
And of course, Rook is no stranger to festive pics and meeting up with the abominable snowman. A  few favourite pics of the Rookie as a pup during the merry month of  December

Baby it's Cold Outside!

Some early morning pics of  Jack Frost 's beautiful handiwork on our cold and frosty Raven ranch.

The door was shut, as doors should be,
Before you went to bed last night;
Yet Jack Frost has got in, you see,
And left your window silver white.

He must have waited till you slept;
And not a single word he spoke,
But pencilled o'er the panes and crept
Away again before you woke.

For, creeping softly underneath
The door when all the lights are out,
Jack Frost takes every breath you breathe,
And knows the things you think about.

He paints them on the window-pane
In fairy lines with frozen steam;
And when you wake you see again
The lovely things you saw in dream.

Canaan Ice Capades

The Trio was happy to see a bit of sunshine today. Our hoar frost is melting and the snow is crisp and icy on the home front. The crew was busy chasing off coyotes and hunting for mice . But, they did stop by to allow for a few "pack" photos of their ice capades:-)

My Canaan Trio - I was thinking I could convince them to pull a sled full of firewood. They declined. Not in our contract, boss:-)
Everyone has their own agendas
Master Rook and the Diva "Bibs" catching some icy rays while pondering the universe. They were quick to remind me that their breed is a "problem-solver and a very deep thinker." Ok, but while you guys are discussing your views on the string theory and plotting your plans for world domination, could you fetch me some more firewood?
Cybelle AKA "Bibs" performing her ice capades - I need to buy this girl some skates!
Master Rook doing his rendition of "the lone wolf"
Master Rook and Miss Ash engaging in a discourse about quantum physics - A Canaan Dog is always ready and alert for stimulating conversation
A spectacular icicle hanging around our home -outside, of course:-)
The girls get ready for a game of hide and seek and "pounce"
Rook says "hey can I play too!"
And the Crew says "any one interested in ice sports should CLICK HERE to check out their favourite figure skating pair of all time Maia Usova & Alexander Zhulin. The crew says " their emotion and passion to Vivaldi's four seasons is breathtaking!"
